Playgroup

In 2024, the Phillip Island Village School (PIVS) Playgroup is held on Tuesday mornings from 9:30 am - 11:15 pm at PIVS (483 Berry’s Beach Road, Ventnor).

Our playgroup is facilitated by Christie Edwards (PIVS parent and staff member) and is based on the Bush Kinder idea of being out in nature - come rain, hail or shine. We ask that everyone dresses for the weather and brings a sense of adventure.

School cycles

PIVS Playgroup runs the in same weeks as the PIVS school cycles. We operate on a slightly different calendar to other schools, with six-week cycles (five weeks of school, one-week break), so it would be best to check that we’re not on cycle break before you come for the first time.  Our 2024 school calendar can be found here.

Intention

The intention of our playgroup is to provide an opportunity for families to meet other families in the school community and to learn about our approach to education and observe it over time. Most of the people who come to the group have children attending PIVS or have completed an expression of interest for future enrolment of their playgroup child, but it is not necessary to have done this when you come.

Cost

The cost is $5 per family which we collect at the beginning of playgroup.  We provide morning tea (organic fruit and tea and coffee) at school and ask that you let us know of any food allergies.

Also, did you know that there is a PIVS Playgroup closed Facebook group? It is a great way to connect with other playgroup families and to get last minute updates.  We will arrange to sign you up to this private group at your first playgroup.
